Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there was once a powerful kingdom called the Queltin. The Queltin was ruled by a wise and gallant king called Clement Wedgwood and his ingenious queen, Camilla Wedgwood. The Queltin overruled almost the entire land of Lachryma, isolated yet very fertile for its volcanic soil. On the edge of a cliff, the kingdom of Queltin stood up with mightiness, showing how powerful the kingdom was. It was surrounded with beautiful scenery of the sunset and the clear river which separated two vast rain forests.
Unfortunately, the mightiness of the Queltin didn’t last long after the birth of the twin sons of the king and queen. Twenty two years has passed, King Clement was sick yet he hadn’t chosen his heir. On the other hand, both Hensleigh and Henry Allen Wedgwood craved for the throne. Even after the death of the king, no heir was chosen. It was believed that the king was too selfish so he decided not to choose an heir. The elderly said that His Majesty preferred the destruction of the kingdom to its construction as he didn’t want other king to be acknowledged by his people as a greater king than he was. Due to King Clement’s selfishness, a civil war broke out between the twins.
Five years later, the Lachryma Island was divided into two territories. In the southern part of the island, there was the Barlow kingdom. The Barlow was reigned by Hensleigh Wedgwood. While in the northern part of the island, there was the Cornford, which was controlled by Henry Allen Wedgwood. The Barlow and the Cornford were separated by the crystal river and the two vast rain forests which used to be the panorama of the Queltin. Both kingdoms always despised each other. They declared war, even for the slightest problem. Even after the birth of their 63rd descendant, Geoffrey Barlow and Guinevere Cornford, the hostility still remained in their blood.
One day, on beautiful morning, a chariot came to deliver invitations to the Barlow and the Cornford to participate at The Galton’s masquerade ball, in the eastern part of the Lachryma Island. It invited all princes and princesses of the Lachryma Island to tame to the ball.
